On 4th street toward historic Washington Square in the heart of NYU’s campus, there are several shops worth mentioning. Look around and see graffiti by famous local artists.  Stop into Rivington Guiitars, NYC's best little guitar shop that specializes in vintage guitars (buying and selling). You'll be in good company at Rivington and can count yourself among Courtney Love, The Killers, The Strokes, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones ... the list goes on and on. If you're not ready to buy and want to test your abilities, they offer guitar lessons as well. Or, I suggest, grab your guitar and head down the street to Washington Square Park where you can see/join all kinds of performers and watch the rhythm and beat of New York City.
