Together Forever
I miss you, terribly, specifically the connection this simple Newsletter provides (me). I was recently at a cocktail party speaking with a friend and fellow Louper Laurence B., and he reminded me of the importance of that connection (for me). For much of the pandemic, I didn't want to connect. In fact, it was an excuse for me not to connect. But that is decidedly over, at least for me!
Things are returning to normal as the pandemic transforms into an endemic. The Knicks and Billy Joel are once again playing at the Garden to full houses. (Vaccinated) European travelers are welcome back. I am about to make a contrarian call. Due to the pandemic, the need to connect in person has increased, not decreased. I love seeing family, friends, and, yes, strangers too. The notion that offices aren't going to be back is nonsense; the need is greater. Sure, certain technology companies who thrive on the digital disintermediation of relationships have no interest in this and spread the narrative. However, most organizations need their people to be connected to each other, to customers, etc. Zoom be damned!
Taste Atlas
Are you ready to travel to new places? Maybe even places you haven't been to for quite some time. Are you ready to experience local culture/cuisine when you get there? I am! My daughter is traveling to Florence for the Spring semester, and I can't wait to visit her there. While there, I plan to experience all of Florence, especially its cuisine. I was looking for places and came upon Taste Atlas, which is a great resource. It is a professionally curated list of the best ingredients, dishes, and restaurants that cities have to offer. They won me over with their nuanced understanding of my hometown, New York City! I am looking forward to enjoying a starter of Gnudi, followed by Bistecca alla Fiorentina, and finishing with Zuccotto, all while drinking multiple Negronis! If you are going anywhere in the world, this is a great first place to start!

Temporary Tattoos
I never wanted a tattoo, but I respect and understand them (just not for my children or me!). There are various reasons people get them, but permanence has always been a deterrent. I have previously told the story of a high school friend who tattooed the Michael Jordan Flight logo on his arm; I assume he still loves Michael Jordan, I still do, but does he need (or still want) to have him on his arm for the world to see??? Prinker has solved the permanence issue by having an affordable printer that uses erasable ink. You can choose from their expansive library of tattoos or create your own. I may even tattoo Bistecca alla Fiorentina on my arm to see my waiter's reaction!
Consider the world back open, the best food again available (Taste Atlas), and the ability to connect with others through (temporary) body art (Prinker) Found!
