All Glown Up!

A funny thing happened during coronavirus quarantine, kids (really everyone, but especially kids) are glowing up! That is not a typo, but rather than just growing up, they are glowing up and becoming glown ups. For those of you above the age of 21, here's the Urban Dictionary explanation of the term:

A Glow Up is a mental, physical, and an emotional transformation for the better. Glow Ups can be both natural or planned. As well as being gradual and permanent, or fast and temporary.
Example: She has really had a glow up since the last time I saw her!

For (formerly) children, this means they are filling in their awkwardness and becoming adults. I am not sure if it’s the age (of my children) or if this is my first time going through, but I am seeing people for the first time (in months!), and they look like different people. They are battle-worn from self (authority figure) imposed isolation, resulting in a physical and mental maturity that I have not witnessed previously. It is a welcome development, and this Newsletter is dedicated to acknowledging and appreciating it!

Vodka is defined by the absence of color and taste. The connoisseur will note that there are indeed differences in taste due to distillation, filtration, and water purity. But generally, vodkas are pretty similar and take on the vibe based upon marketing. e11elen Vodka perfectly captures the essence of Miami. Sure, it's named after the eponymous Miami hot spot, but it is distilled and bottled in Miami. While our newly minted glown ups may not be at a nightclub anytime soon, we can step it up and drink vodka at home (preferably Miami) with friends and family! Bloomscape

Being a Glown up means being responsible, often responsible for other people and other things. Before you go out and get too ambitious and get a companion pet, you may want to start with something like a plant. The truth is living in proximity to plants has a beneficial effect on both mood and oxygen levels. Bloomscpae has a wide variety of beautiful plants to choose from. They are easy to care for, and you can watch them grow up, along with your mood, as you count the days until Spring when you can finally head outdoors again! If your plants live through the season, maybe it is time to consider getting a pet. You certainly don't want to get a pet now when you have to go outside to walk them in the freezing Winter!

Sabah

A glown up is the king/queen of their domain. They walk on air wherever they are. Sure, you can walk around in Nike Air shoes, but they aren't sufficiently sophisticated. Sabah shoes are the shoes for the Glown up. They are handcrafted in Turkey using the best materials. They are slipper-like shoes that make the wearer feel regal. They were introduced to me by fellow Louper Amy A., and I wear them all the time.

Diqiuren Toothbrushes
A significant difference between glown ups and kids is brushing one's teeth. At some point during this transition, brushing one's teeth evolves from a chore into a pleasure. Maybe it comes with the maturity to care what your teeth look/feel like, maybe it is respect for others (in your proximity, if that ever happens again!), or maybe it's just that fresh feeling. I was introduced to this new extra-soft toothbrush by my fellow Louper and daughter Avery V and I immediately sent the other brushes to the recycling bin. It has 2,000 soft and slender bristles, 80x the amount of an ordinary toothbrush. Brushing with these has a distinctly different feel, almost like a proper shoe shine shim, and your teeth come out glowing!
