Guilty Pleasures

IMG_2491 2.jpeg

I have been obsessing about onesies (Coveralls, Rompers, etc.) for the better part of the last six months after I noticed a reasonably fashionable person wearing them. So, I ordered a few. While they are particularly comfortable and practical, it has proven difficult to find the time and place to wear them. I have tried on multiple occasions and then backed down when I received criticism from my wife and the rest of the family. Finally, I had my opportunity this past week as we were going out with close friends (people that accept me for me) and were heading downtown midweek, unlikely to see anyone we knew. Of course, I had a spare male romper (bromper) for my friend and fellow Louper Evan L! As we were preparing to leave, we had a rare (but much appreciated) drop by two couples who were looking for a nightcap and had been down the street for dinner. In fact, I was coincidentally in the middle of telling a story about a particular fraternity brother of mine whom I randomly ran into in Las Vegas who was dressed in a blue velvet zorro costume, presumably to match his friend who was wearing the same outfit in red! The two couples (I will protect the innocent here!) came in and were horrified, truly perplexed, by our choice of outfits. What a laugh and the very definition of a guilty pleasure!

Wikibuy Browser Extension

I don't know about you, but at checkout of any of my online purchases, I get to the Discount Code input and am annoyed. I know someone else out there has access to this product at a significant discount from the retail price I am prepared to pay. Maybe they know the owner? Perhaps, they are a VIP? Or, maybe they clipped coupons from their local paper? I don't know and don't care; I just know that I feel like a sucker without one. Therefore, when I learned about the Wikibuy browser extension, I downloaded and began to save. I'm not talking about $1-2 here and there; I am talking about $65 on my very first purchases! At check out, it automatically searches (who knows where???) for discount codes and then populates the deepest discount. It kind of feels like stealing ...  but is there a better guilty pleasure than saving money?

Beach Juice Rose
Beverage

Before there was White Claw, this Summer there was Beach Juice Rose. Most people think of Rose as an elegant product of Provence, but this Rose comes from an undisclosed location (imagine that). Let's take it one step further. They don't even have the decency (class?) to serve it in a bottle, but rather it is served in a can. Summer is clearly over, and there is nary a bottle of Rose leftover that isn't being used to water the plants. But, I like rose (and warm weather destinations) year around, and I love the idea of drinking it out of a can. Maybe it is less conspicuous of the good life. Maybe there's a novelty to drinking it out of a can. I say find some warm weather, crack open a can (of Rose), and enjoy this guilty pleasure! Jeez, you can keep it in your fridge!

Vuori
Apparel

Wearing a tank top is yet another guilty pleasure. Unfortunately, my arms aren't as defined as (I think?) they once were. That aside, there are times when I am doing an activity (working out, playing basketball, or just laying down at the beach drinking Beach Juice Rosé) when I want to be cooler than a t-shirt allows. Perhaps these times should be restricted to the comfort of my own home, just like my Romper. Even my daughter said, "It's not flattering, it's actually Fattering!" Love that, and therefore Vuori tanks will have to be my guilty pleasure! All Vouri shirts feel amazing, so if a tank isn't your thing try their other t-shirt offerings. You've never felt such a comfortable fabric ... really!

Please let me know your guilty pleasures, and consider WikiBuyBeach Juice Rosé, and Vuori Found!
